Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief and MP South Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti is flying to New Delhi Monday afternoon.
Sources said that the communication lines between Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and PDP have got rejuvenated and Mehbooba is likely to meet top BJP leadership again in New Delhi.
This move comes after senior BJP leader and union finance minister, Arun Jaitley, Sunday said that BJP led union government was “committed to agenda of governance in Kashmir”.
Notably, Mehbooba and former FinMin, Dr Haseeb A Drabu, were in union capital last week where PDP chief met her counterpart Amit Shah. However, BJP’s J&K point man, Ram Madhav, had said that “they can’t accept new demands”. Since then, there has been no communication between the two alliance partners.
On the other hand, PDP made it clear that they only wanted “commitment on the implementation of Agenda of Alliance”.
“Mehbooba Ji is likely to meet PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday,” sources said. “Arun Jaitley’s Sunday statement has rejuvenated the process.”
The scheduled meeting last week between Mehbooba and PM Modi was deferred at the last moment.
J&K is under governor rule since January 07 when former CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed breathed his last in AIIMS New Delhi.
Her daughter, Mehbooba Mufti, had refused to take oath of office as CM seeking J&K specific CBMs from BJP led Union Government.
