Free coaching for IAS/KAS (Preliminary) examination, 2014 will be imparted by Ascent Group to 40 talented youth from the state  belonging to any of the minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikhs, Buddhists and Parsis) having a family income not exceeding Rs 3 lacs per annum.

This was stated by Mohammad Shafi Pandit, IAS (Retd.) Chairman of the group, a social enterprise set up in 2009 for the purpose of imparting to the civil service aspirants of the state, quality coaching at par with the national level coaching institutes.

“Owing to its strong credentials and endeavors in the past four years, ASCENT GROUP is the only institute in the state approved by the Govt of India, Ministry of Minority Affairs for imparting free coaching to the civil service aspirants,” said the statement issued to Kashmir News Service.

According to the state received by Kashmir News Service Pandit added: “Our aim is to ensure that no talented youth from the state who has the capability and the desire to crack the competitive examination is left out only because he or she lacks the financial assistances for seeking guidance and coaching.”

The selection of candidates for free coaching will be made on the basis of a screening test to be held on 21 November, 2013 at Amar Singh College Srinagar. Aspirants are advised to register on at www.ascentgroup.in.
