SRINAGAR: Aspire Heritage School organised a student-led exhibition titled The Food Journey: From Farm to Fork on Tuesday to promote healthy eating, sustainable food practices, responsible consumption and food waste management.

The exhibition featured interactive stations, demonstrations and visual displays through which students explored the journey of food from farms to consumers and examined how everyday choices affect the environment.
The initiative focused on reducing food waste, encouraging healthy eating habits, promoting composting and making responsible use of natural resources. It also highlighted the importance of sustainable practices at home and in the wider community.
The event was aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Responsible Consumption and Production.
Drawing on Cambridge learning approaches, the exhibition used project-based learning to develop students’ critical thinking, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills. The student-led format also encouraged learners to apply classroom knowledge to real-life challenges and share their understanding with visitors.
Parents participated in the event, strengthening engagement between the school and families on issues related to food habits, waste reduction and environmental responsibility.
The exhibition conveyed the message that food waste is preventable and that responsible consumption can contribute to a healthier and more sustainable future.
“Someone’s extravagance costs someone the food they need for survival,” the message stated, urging people to make conscious choices and avoid wasting food.
