Srinagar police claimed to have arrested the assailant of a vendor who was seriously injured in an attack on August 27.
A vendor Latief Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan resident of Bagiyas, Chatabal allegedly received serious injuries in his head when he was attacked with a pipe wrench by one Himayun Khan a resident of Nowgam, Bypass.
A police statement said that Batamaloo police registered a case FIR No 77/2013 under section 307, 341,323/RPC in this regard.
The injured was shifted to the hospital for treatment and a manhunt to arrest the assailant was launched by the police.
“On Thursday, Batamaloo police arrested the accused Himayun Khan son of Ashraf Khan resident of Nowgam who has been remanded to police custody,” a police statement said.
