As soon as the business resumed in the Lower House of the J&K Legislature, Opposition members raised the issue of skyrocketing prices of commodities.

Led by Congress’ Nawang Rigzin Jora, the opposition members which included Lawmakers from National Conference, Congress, and a few independent legislators, the protesting lawmakers raised anti-government slogans.

The disgruntled members are asking government to discuss the issue of “price increase of commodities which has affected the common man’s pocket”.

Ridiculing the PDP-BJP government, the lawmakers raised, “Modi Kay Hai Achay Di, Baaki Sab Kay Buray Din.”

The lawmakers also alleged that the administration is focused on Islamabad segment elections. “Cheeni Saara Kahan Gaya, Anantnag Anantnag; Ration Saar Kahan Gaya, Anantnag Anantnag,” the protestors raised the slogans.

CM Ms Mehbooba Mufti is fighting elections from Islamabad segment on June 22. She will face NC’s Iftikhar Misgar and Congress’ Hilal Shah besides four others.

While they tried to walk into the Well, Marshalls didn’t allow them to move an inch inside it.

Although, Speaker remained unmoved with the sloganeering of the Opposition, Minister Ab Haq Khan spoke on behalf of the government.

“What is the issue? Let Opposition raise it from their respective seats,” he told the house.

However, it didn’t satisfy the protesting members who staged walk out from the house.
