SRINAGAR: Kashmir’s premier charity, Athrout has now opened a new diagnostic centre “By female, for female” at their head office in Nawa Kadal.
“It is a first of its kind service in the valley,” said one of the functionaries of the charity organization. “For every test, we would charge 50 to 60 per cent less than the market rate.”
The centre would be operated by female staff as well as a female radiologist at very nominal charges. This will be for female patients.
The diagnostic has facilities such as HOLTER, USG, ECG and ABMP. The facility has state of the art Logic GE 9 machine, which is only available at one other diagnostic facility in the valley.
“For HOLTER, the patient normally has to get batteries and electrodes from the market, but we would provide them here for free,” the charity official said.
Apart from USG, HOLTER, ABMP and ECG, Athrout also plans to start blood testing soon. In addition, the poor patients who cannot afford the tests will be able to get them done free of cost.
