Lauding the efforts of Corporation Staff for performing the duty dedicatedly and honestly, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation said that the officers and officials of Corporation has been performing commendable job in their respective areas despite severe law and order problem in the Valley.
The Commissioner, in a press release issued here today, said that the Corporation tried its best to keep the city clean and garbage free with the cooperation of District police, an official spokesperson said Friday evening.
He said despite problems during the period, the Corporation has left no stone unturned for keeping the city clean and rubbish free.
He said instead of encouraging the sanitation staff, some persons are busy to criticize the SMC on social network or print media on sanitation front.
The Commissioner informed that from July 7 to July 20, 2016, the SMC, in four phases on July 9, 10, 17 and 20, swept, collected and dumped 2461 MTs of garbage through 601 trucks.
He said 471 MTs garbage was collected and dumped through 102 trucks on July 21 and 403 MTs garbage through 90 trucks was lifted on 22nd of July 2016.
Appreciating the efforts of staff for working with dedication for ensuring cleanliness in city, the Commissioner asked them to perform their duty with zeal and dedication.
