SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Auqib Nabi made his international debut for India after being named in the playing XI for the second ODI against the West Indies.
The Baramulla-born pacer became the 265th player to represent India in men’s ODIs and the third cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir to play for India at international level, after Parvez Rasool and Umran Malik.
Nabi, 28, has progressed through domestic cricket on the back of consistent performances before gaining further exposure during his recent county cricket stint.
Known as the “Baramulla Express”, Nabi’s maiden India appearance marks another milestone in his career and adds to the list of cricketers from Jammu and Kashmir who have reached the international stage.
