Australian High Commissioner Meets CM Omar, Focus on Agriculture and Allied Sector Cooperation

   

SRINAGAR: The Australian High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today and held discussions on strengthening cooperation in agriculture and allied sectors.

The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in areas such as horticulture and animal husbandry, with both sides exploring avenues for knowledge exchange, adoption of best practices, and capacity building aimed at improving productivity and sustainability.

Discussions also included prospects for institutional partnerships and technical cooperation to support ongoing development initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir, within the broader framework of India–Australia relations.

The engagement was described as forward-looking, with both sides expressing interest in deepening cooperation through appropriate institutional mechanisms.

Orson Passi, Second Secretary, and Vandana Seth, Political Lead at the Australian High Commission, were also present during the meeting.
