Police on Wednesday detained Hurriyat (m) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Nigeen residence, reports said.
The arrest comes in wake of the protest call issued by the JRL against the persecution of Rohingya Muslims.
Reports said that Mirwaiz on Wednesday mirning was informed that he cannot leave his residence till further orders.
