SRINAGAR: Authorities on Friday extended winter vacations for schools in the Kashmir Valley and winter zones of Jammu until March 7.
Official said that the decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Minister for School Education, Sakina Itoo, this morning.
They said the decision followed reports from respective Deputy Commissioners regarding snowfall, as well as a weather forecast predicting inclement conditions in Jammu and Kashmir by the MeT Department.
The schools were originally scheduled to reopen on March 1 after a long winter break but will now resume on March 7. (GNS)
