Citing predictions by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the advisory urges residents, especially those in Fakir Gujri, surrounding areas, and Khonmoh, to avoid venturing onto slopes and near water bodies due to heightened risk of landslides and water-related accidents.

In light of the deteriorating weather conditions, Shikara operations at Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake have been suspended. The administration has also cautioned sand miners and others working around River Jhelum to halt operations until a full assessment of the river and its tributaries is conducted.

The public has been advised to remain vigilant and follow updates through official channels. Key emergency contact numbers have been activated, including the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) and the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS).

For emergencies, residents can reach DEOC Srinagar at 0194-2457543, 0194-2483651, and 0194-2457552, or contact emergency helpline 112. The Police Control Room is also operational at 0194-2477567. WhatsApp helpline numbers (9103998355, 9103998357) are available for urgent queries.

The advisory has been widely circulated among key departments, including police, SDRF, health, transport, and public works, to ensure coordinated preparedness and response.

Authorities have urged the public to stay away from electric poles, loose structures, and old trees, and to suspend non-essential travel and boating activities until weather conditions improve.
