SRINAGAR: Authorities have ordered the closure of all government and private schools in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on April 8, 2026, due to inclement weather conditions, officials said.
However, schools falling within municipal limits will remain open. The decision has been taken on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students.
Meanwhile, the School Education Department has directed that both staff and students participate in a three-day mega awareness programme through virtual mode from their homes.
The administration said the arrangement aims to maintain academic engagement while prioritising safety amid adverse weather conditions.
