Authorities Suspend Classwork in North Kashmir Institutions Amid Alleged Harassment of Girl Student

   

SRINAGAR: Authorities on Monday ordered the suspension of classwork in educational institutions in the Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district following protests over allegations of harassment of a girl student by a senior lecturer.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, S A Raina, said that academic activities at Government Higher Secondary School, Boys Higher Secondary School and Government Degree College Sopore will remain suspended from April 15 to April 18.

The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in the area following protests over harrasment allegations.
