Authorities Suspend Four Officials Over ‘Failure to Protect Green Gold’ In Anantnag

   

SRINAGAR: Divisional Forest Officer, Forest Division Anantnag Feroz Ahmad has suspended four officials into their alleged failure in protecting green gold in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

An order in this regard, of which a copy lies with news agency GNS, reads that “Consequent upon huge seizure at Saw Mill Kokernag and in Compartments, 74/V and 75/V of Forest Block Kokernag, the staff posted in the area including B.O. Kokernag have failed in protecting the green gold falling under their control.”

The order further reads that “Keeping in view, the losses occurred to the department, four officials including Mohammed Abbas Wagay, Forester posted at B.O Kokernag; Fayaz Ahmad Rather, Gardener (Mali), Bilal Ahmad Shiekh, Gardener (Mali), Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Orderly, posted at Compartment 74-75/V (Under transfer C.P Sogam) are placed under suspension and are attached with FCR Anantnag with immediate effect till the final outcome of the case.”
