Authorities suspended teacher for thrashing minor student

Authorities’ on Saturday suspended a headmistress for allegedly thrashing a minor student of Government middle school at Qazi Pora in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

According to an order issued by ZEO Quil Zone Bandipora on Saturday, which read: “It has come to my notice that a student of your school was given corporal punishment. It has also been learnt that the said student was hospitalized.”

“Till pending inquiry you are placed under suspension with immediate effect,” the order reads.

The minor student Momin Nabi, 8, a 3rd class student was pulled up by ears by a teacher, resulting in his injuries. Momin was later taken to the hospital for the treatment.
