SRINAGAR: The Bandipora-Gurez road in Jammu and Kashmir has been closed due to several snow avalanches on Sunday. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has initiated a comprehensive clearance operation in the affected area.
Earlier this month, seven local trekkers were stranded at Mughal Road in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir due to heavy snowfall and avalanches. They were successfully rescued by a team from the mechanical engineering wing of the Public Works Department.
