Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu & Kashmir Wednesday expressed its grave concern over starting afresh the besieging of populated areas by the army and SOG of police causing great hardships to the common people.

“These crackdowns amount to violation of the human rights as the right of movement of the people is badly affected and they are forced to stop their routine work besides being subjected to mental harassment,” the Jama’at spokesperson said in a statement. “During the night-hours crackdown of Dogripora village near Awantipora, two children got injured by pellet injuries and the worst ever traffic jam caused at the highway near Awantipora subjected the commuters to an unprecedented suffering.”

During the traffic jam, the spokesperson said, some CRPF personnel among the convoy fired indiscriminately resulting in the injuries to three passersby without any fault.

While demanding stern action against the erring cops whose “irresponsible, illegal and unjustified” firing injured five innocent people including two children, Jama’at extends its solidarity with the suffering people and those injured due to unwarranted firing of the Indian forces personnel.
