J&K’s Education minister Naeem Akhtar has felicitated Dr Rouf Hamza Boda, Lecturer, Government Higher Secondary School Doru, Shahabad for bagging ‘Global Role Model Teacher’ award for his contribution in education.

Dr Rouf was conferred the award by MVLA Trust Mumbai at a function organised at India International Centre, New Delhi yesterday. Selected teachers, lecturers and principals from across the country were awarded for their contribution in education sector.

Akhtar said that teachers like Dr Rouf are a great asset for the State who are contributing immensely in infusing a new life in the academic arena through innovative schooling methods.

Lauding the State’s teaching community for their capacity and commitment, Akhtar said it is only through the devoted efforts of the teachers that the movement of transforming the educational scenario in Jammu and Kashmir is showing tangible results on the ground.

“It is because of the commitment of our gifted teachers that the pioneering initiatives like e-learning, vocational training, CM’s Super-50 coaching, Winter Tutorials and several other path-breakers in educational sector are going on successfully,” Akhter said and added that with the cooperation of the teachers and the society, the educational sector in J&K is, in near future, going to come up as a role model in the country.

The Minister said that it is only because of the efforts of the teachers that the students of the State’s government schools are now not only competing with their counterparts from the premiere private educational institutions, but outdo them in most of the competitions in academics and other related activities.
