Firing on both sides continue as the encounter is going on in Awoora Pahalgam here in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district.
Two to three militants are believed to be trapped inside a single story house, sources inform.
As soon as joint forces of Army’s 3 RR and SOG of J&K police laid cordon, firing was reported from the spot.
Meanwhile, people have swelled up near the encounter site and clashed with the forces. People are trying to break the cordon to help militants flee.
However, forces are firing teargas shells to disperse the, protesters who have marched from surrounding villages.
