Ghulam-Nabi-Azad-Ex-CM-J&KThe Union health minister and Congress candidate from Udhampur-Doda parliamentary seat, Ghulam Nabi Azad filed his nomination papers for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday.

Azad is the coalition candidate for Udhampur, enjoying the support of National Conference.

Thousands had turned up to support Azad while he filed nomination papers. Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah was also present on the occasion.

Addressing his supporters, Azad lashed out at “communal elements” without naming BJP prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi.

Pertinently, Azad had earlier ruled out publicly the possibility of contesting Lok Sabha elections from Jammu and Kashmir during his recent visit to Chenab Valley region.  He gave multiple reasons for staying away including organizational commitments and assignments.

Azad will have a tough competition with the BJP candidate Dr Jitandra Singh Rana.
