The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad Tuesday, launched ‘Suqoon’ the Wellness Project in an impressive function. The project is an initiative taken by The Inner Call, Forum for Evolution, Development and Awareness.

Azad congratulated The Inner Call for taking the initiative and wished them success in achieving their aims and goals.

The Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan, who was also present at the launching ceremony, said that the state health department would render their full support for ‘Suqoon’ Project.

Earlier Secretary, The Inner Call, Affan Yesvi informed that ‘Suqoon’ would create a pool of mental health workers across the state. He said, through the project ‘Suqoon’, the Psychiatrics, Psychologists and Psycho-analysts would sensitize the people by organizing workshops, seminars and symposiums about various mental health issues and suggest measures to overcome the stigmas attached with it. He also informed that the project would also establish counseling centers so that counseling can be provided to deal with emotional and social trauma.

 It is pertinent to mention that The Inner Call had recently observed Mental Wellness Month and had counseled over 7,000 people from all walks of life.
