The Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will be the Congress party’s Chief Ministerial candidate in 2014, MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, said, “Everyone is questioning whether Azad will come back in J&K Politics or he will stay at the centre, I want to clear one thing to them that he is going to visit every nook and corner in the state after the parliament session will be over on May 10, 2013 and he will be the next Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.”

Saroori has also said Azad has been included in the 100 worlds famous personality that too continuously third time. At present he is at 70th number, after hearing this information from their local MLA people started cheering up. Saroori while addressing a public gathering at Khara of Tehsil Thatri, has said, “Congress party is the only party which is committed to provide equal opportunities of progress and development to the people belonging to various regions, sub-regions particularly far flung areas.”

As per a statement the MLA has also referred to the empowerment of Panchayats and said that these institutions have already been given powers to monitor the functioning of 14 departments and added that the need of the hour is that Panchs and Sarpanchs must utilize these powers in full and help to contribute good governance at the grass root level. He said, “Panchs and Sarpanchs should not only stick to financial powers alone, but must exercise the powers they have been given to check the functioning of primary schools, Anganwari centres, CAPD ration depots, First aid health centre, Animal Husbandry centers and other similar activities having direct impact on the life of people.”

He has informed the gathering that many un-electrified villages have been electrified under RGGVY and said that shortage of staff in schools will be addressed shortly as the matter is already discussed with Deputy CM Tara Chand. He also distributed 250 membership card among youth of Indian Youth Congress (IYC).

Later Saroori review all ongoing works of the area including MGNREGA, Khara Tanta road which is under construction by PMGSY at the cost of 13 crores, Khara Jai road which is under construction by CRF road at the cost of 8 crores and almost 70% work is complete, Goila Trankel road, Khara-Challar road which is schedule to be started shortly by PMGSY at the cost of 14 Crore, new DPR under NABARD were submitted of Payakul road, Chabba to Kannoo Dugroon road, Khai to Koshietough road and other works.
