SRINAGAR: Mangers of the two-day yearly Urs of Hazrat Mian Nizam-ud-din Kiyanvi is not taking place this summer. It was supposed to take place on June 7 but has been cancelled in wake of the pandemic.

Reports appearing in media said that Mian Bashir Ahmed, who is the manager of the shrine has announced the cancellation of the yearly Urs that would attract tens of thousands of devotees from across Jammu and Kashmir.

Rajouri and Poonch wherefrom a huge number of devotees would come is facing a serious Covid19 crisis. The region has lost nearly 270 people in the pandemic so far. It still has a sizable number of active cases.  This was one of the reasons why the shrine managers decided to cancel the event as a precautionary measure keeping in view the social distancing norm which is impossible in such a major gathering.
