Welcoming the resumption of dialogue process between New Delhi and Islamabad, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (m), Tuesday called for resolving the vexed Kashmir issue and all other outstanding issues between the two countries.

Terming the reinitiating of parleys between the two countries as a welcome relief, the conglomerate hoped that the talks would be “made meaningful and result-oriented by involving real Kashmiri leadership in the dialogue process”.

During the Hurriyat’s (m) people-to-people contact program in South Kashmir areas of Nashfal, Ari Gund, Devsar, Nai Basti, Janglaat Mandi and Ompora, a delegation of the amalgam led by senior leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza met several public delegations and addressed various public meetings.

Speaking on the occasion, Waza stressed that Kashmiri people were the “principle party to Kashmir dispute and by putting aside the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people could not lead to any resolution”.

Calling upon New Delhi and Islamabad to work for peace and prosperity of entire South Asia and pay “more attention to resolve Kashmir issue”, he said, “Kashmir is the apple of discord between the two counties and responsible for an atmosphere of mistrust and hatred in entire region.”

Blaming the state government for neglecting these areas, Waza said, “the government which only has been given a mandate of carrying developmental activities should take note of the peoples’ problems and condemned that they were not even working to resolve these problems and just fulfilling their nefarious designs.”

Stressing that the state administration just “makes fake promises about resolving the peoples’ problems”, he added, “they needed to pay more attention to it and dispatch their duties properly.”
