Due to heavy rains which lashed Kashmir since late Saturday night, the vital Srinagar-Jammu highway has been closed while ongoing Amarnath Yatra has been halted. This is second time since July 2 that Yatra was stopped due to rains.
Reports said that heavy rains triggered landslides forcing authorities to close down the road.
“No Yatri will be allowed to move towards the cave from either of the base camps till the weather improves,” reports said.
Around 1.50 lakh Yatris have performed this year’s Amarnath Yatra so far. The Yatra which began on July 2 will end on August 29.
