With a view to promoting adventure tourism in Jammu region, Union Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned Rs 3 crore for Doda district for the development of Water Sports Circuit on Baglihar Dam at Pul-Doda under Integrated Development of Tourist scheme facilities as Anantnag-Kishtwar-Pehalgam-Daksum-Ranjit Sagar Dam circuit under Himalayan Circuit Theme of Swadesh Darshan Scheme’.

Details revealed that Chief Executive Officer, Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA), Bal Krishan has wrote a letter to Nodal Officer National Institute of Water Sports, Goa to depute a team of experts to work out feasibility of water sports at Pul-Doda on Baglihar-Dam.

The Ministry of Tourism Government of India has also approved Rs 232.27 lakhs for development of tourist facilities at Bhaderwah under the scheme for creating infrastructure.

A BJP statement said that over thirty thousand villagers living in Goha, Marmat, Khelani and Dhranga will get proper road connectivity as National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has started road widening on this prestigious road project.

Government of Indian has approved construction of Sudhmahadev-Marmat-Doda as national highway 244 to provide alternate and safe road connectivity to Doda and Kishtwar districts after the existing stretch of National Highway 1B from Batote to Pul Doda was declared as unsafe due to the reservoir of Baglihar Hydroelectric Project.
