SRINAGAR: Two days after his appointment was approved by the Board of Directors, Baldev Prakash today took over as the Managing Director and CEO of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank. On the first day of his joining the office, Prakash has two meetings slated with the top executives of the bank and the zonal heads.
Prakash was nominated for the top post earlier for a period of three years. He has been with the State Bank of India for most of his career. He was appointed as a director on the Board of Directors on December 28, 2021.
On his arrival, he was welcomed by the top management of the key listed company of Jammu and Kashmir. Soon after the formal joining, he started working by interacting with the officers.
With the top position in the Jammu and Kashmir bank finally bifurcated, R K Chibber apparently continues to be the chairman. In the last board meeting, Chibber was appointed as Additional Director to the Board of Directors of the Bank. However the exact details are not available.
Besides, the Board has also approved the appointment of Balvir Singh Gandhi as the bank’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) replacing Rajni Saraf for a period of three years. Gandhi is a Chartered Accountant for the last 16 years. Reports said he has worked with the Life Insurance Corporation of India, HDFC Limited and various Public Sector Undertakings.
