The 85-Kilometre long Bandipora-Gurez road was thrown open for traffic on Wednesday after 14 days.

Pertinently, the road was closed on 6th November after the heavy snowfall.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza inspected the road here the other day and expressed sanctification over the efforts of the Mechanical Engineering wing of R&B made to reopen the road for traffic.

He said for the first time the snow clearance operation was launched by the Mechanical wing of R&B department earlier the road clearance operations were performed by Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
