SRINAGAR: The Bandipora-Gurez road, which had been closed on Saturday due to heavy snowfall at Razdan Top and surrounding areas, has been reopened for traffic, officials confirmed on Monday.
An official said that traffic is now being allowed under specific timings to ensure safety.
According to the official, traffic will be permitted from TCP Kanzalwan starting at 8:30 am, with a cutoff time of 11:00 am. Similarly, traffic from TCP Tragbal will operate from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
“Drivers and passengers are advised to depart from Pethkoot at 12:00 pm and wait at TCP Tragbal until all vehicles from Gurez reach Tragbal,” the official stated.
He further added that it is mandatory for all vehicles to be equipped with anti-skid chains. Traffic will only be allowed after the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) confirms road conditions. (KNO)
