Bandipora police organized a week long District Level Sports Festival at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium Bandipora. The festival was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Sajad Ganai. Addl SP Bandipora welcomed the chief guest and the participants on the occasion.
Various games including Volleyball, Kabbadi, Rugby, Wushu, Kick Boxing and Tug of war will be played in the festival. On the first day of the fest, Kabbadi, Volleyball, Rugby were played. The Kabbadi match was played between JKP team and Tarkpora team which was won by JKP while the Volleyball match was played between JKP team and Chak Rishipora team which was won by Chak Rishipora. Rugby match was played between Ali Sports and Rugby Warriors which was won by Ali Sports
In Wushu and Kick Boxing, the participants were categorized in Sub Junior, Junior and Senior categories. More than 200 participants took part in both the games.
It is pertinent to mention that the weeklong festival will conclude on Sunday August 27 and the winners of each event will participate at Range, Zone and State level subsequently.
Among others DySP Hqrs Mir Murtaza, DySP DAR Sheikh Tahir, Activity In-charge Youth Service and Sports Khurshid Shaheen and Chairman Ali Sports Academy Faisal Ali were present.
