As per the reports coming from the main town of Bandipora district in north Kashmir, people are protesting over the army “highhandedness” early Saturday morning and some have resorted to stone-pelting with police and paramilitary CRPF personnel.

“The army personnel early this morning reached the main market and ransacked shops and stalls,” an eyewitness told Kashmir Life from Bandipora. “This led to the massive protests and stone-pelting in the area.”

The army has supposedly carried the action after they claimed that some unidentified youth hurled stones on their convoy.

Violent clashes were going on in the area when this report was filed in.
