Bandipora: Bandipora has seen significant increase in annual milk production which surged to 80000 tons, while as egg and livestock population too witnessed upsurge. This was stated at a awareness camp organized by Animal Husbandry Department in Sumbal, Bandipora on Saturday.

ADC Bandipora, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, senior Doctors and progressive cattle rearers also participated in the camp.

During the camp various experts threw light on latest practices, scientific interventions and healthcare techniques for better cattle rearing and boosting cattle production.

On the occasion, the ADC asked farmers to follow advises of experts and technical methods for sustainable development of livestock and increase in milk production.

It was said that 1060 backyard poultry and 188 broiler units have been established under private sector, so far, this fiscal in the district, while as 1.72 lakh vaccines were given to animals to prevent them from various diseases. Further, 25 thousand artificial insemination’s were conducted and 10 thousand new births were also registered during the period.
