A complete shutdown is being observed in Bandipora town and its adjacent areas in north Kashmir, on Saturday against the militant killings.

Reports said that all shops and business establishments remained closed to protest the militant killings. Forces have been deployed at many places of town in order to prevent any untoward incidents, witnesses said.

Earlier authorities have decided to close down all educational institutions in Bandipora on Saturday as a precautionary measure.

Notably, five militants were killed in an encounter in Shukbabun area of Sumlar village during a gunfight that began on Thursday afternoon after Army’s 14 RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF cordoned off the area and ended up with the killing of five militants on Friday late evening.
