Bandipora’s Chuntimulla village Monday simmered in rage against the army stationed in a local 14 RR camp for “torturing” the seven villagers, including a teenage girl inside the camp.

The villagers attacked the camp with rocks after army men Monday morning barged into houses and picked up seven persons, including a teenage girl, the locals said. “They were later released after badly tortured.”

The tortured persons were rushed to the hospital where their condition is said to be critical, they said.

The protest later spilled over to the office of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora with the villagers demanding strict action against army men involved in the act.
