A meeting of Executive Committee of the Banker’s Club of Jammu and Kashmir was held in the Regional Office of RBI Jammu under the Presidentship of D. Sethy. Almost all the member banks participated in the meeting. In addition to other matters, holding of Banclave at Srinagar also came under discussion.

The President of the Club finalized the details of arrangements for the Banclave which is slated for 26-04-2016 at SKCCI Cheshmashahi Srinagar on the theme e-financial inclusion –way forward. Harun Rashid Khan, Deputy Governor Reserve Bank of India has consented to be Chief Guest on the occasion. During the Banclave two technical sessions shall be conducted – one on “Leveraging Technology for Financial Inclusion-State Experiences” and the other on “e-financial inclusion, e-payment systems, e-governance in J&K-way forward”. The speakers in the Banclave are experts in their respective fields who will enlighten the audience about the benefits of e- financial inclusion and its scope in the State of J&K.

The knitty-grities of holding the Banclave came under discussion in detail. It was agreed upon that the event would be capitalized to spread awareness about e-governance among the stake-holders. This would be a major step by the “Bankers Club J&K”  to connect with the people and ensure that its existence is not only for blossoming of inter-se relationship between the members of the club to keep abreast about the latest happenings in the banking sector and to proactively forge unity among various public and private sector banks but also to take initiative to spread awareness about different schemes like e-financial inclusion which would leverage technology for financial inclusion and growth in the State of  Jammu and Kashmir.
