Banks operating in district Ganderbal have disbursed Rs 72.02 crore for establishment of 3709 units till September 2012. This was stated in the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meet at Ganderbal on Thursday.

“The banks operating in the district have disbursed total amount of Rs 72.02 crore for establishment of 3709 units till September 2012, out of which Rs 45.41 crore were provided for 2573 units under priority sector realizing 36 per cent of the target and Rs 26.61 crore for establishing 1136 units under non- priority sector registering 21 per cent achievement,” said Masood Ahmad Khan, Lead District Manager (LDM) while briefing the house about achievement of targets by the banks under District Credit Plan 2012-13.

“In priority sector, 63 per cent of the target was achieved in agriculture and allied activities, while as in Small Enterprises 34 per cent , Micro-credit 31 per cent, Education 36 per cent and housing 21per cent of the target was achieved,” he added.
The meet convened by J&K bank was chaired by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal Showkat Ahmad Mir.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC stressed upon banks and sponsoring agencies to play effective role in eradicating unemployment of the district by achieving the set targets under various sectors for setting up of income generating units.
He appreciated the role of J&K Bank in disposing off the cases meticulously and advised all other banks to adopt the same and ensure achievement of 100 per cent target under different sectors by the end of current fiscal.

Mir advised NABARD and other concerned agencies for timely release of subsidy and margin money and also emphasized on the financial institutions to sanction and disburse the cases strictly as per guide lines and in close co-ordination with sponsoring agencies.
