Hurriyat (m) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday welcomed the Amnesty International report calling for immediate ban on pellet guns in Kashmir.
In a tweet, Mirwaiz said that Kashmir welcomed the amnesty report released yesterday in Srinagar.

“#Kashmir welcomes @amnesty report calling for immediate ban on pellet guns,trial of forces (personnel in civil courts & rehab (rehabilitation) & compensation for victims,” tweeted Mirwaiz.

On Wednesday, Amnesty International India Director, Aakar Patel speaking at a function in Srinagar said that government should immediately ban the shotguns used, only in Kashmir.
AII also released a report on the pellet victims at a Srinagar hotel.
