SRINAGAR

Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Monday strongly condemned the arrest and detention of ‘hundreds’ of youth, who according to Bar have been illegally picked up and unlawfully incarcerated.

The Bar Association also condemned the shifting and lodging of Muzaffar Ahmad Dar from Central Jail Srinagar to Tihar Jail New Delhi and of his booking in a “fabricated case registered in 2011 by NIA authorities”.

The Bar Association has impressed upon the government to release all the youth as well as Muzafar Ahmed Dar and Masrat Alam who according to the Bar is languishing in the jail since 2010.

“It feels that the arbitrary arrest and detention, of both old and young Kashmiris, is being used by the police and other authorities as a weapon of war, to break their will and to force them to give up their legitimate struggle for achieving their right of self-determination,” the statement of Bar said.
