Baramulla Encounter: Injured Army Man Succumbs

SRINAGAR: An army man injured in a gunfight with the militants in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday has succumbed to injuries on Tuesday.

Srinagar-based Defence spokesperson Col Rajesh Kalia in a statement said that that one more militant was killed in the gunfight today, taking the number of militants killed in the encounter to three.

“Two army men who were injured in the gunfight also succumbed,” said the spokesman.

He said two AK rifles and three pistols were recovered from the site of encounter.

A search operation is underway, the police said.

On Monday, two militants were killed in the encounter after they carried out an attack on the joint Naka party in Kreeri area, in which two CRPF men and a policeman were killed, police said.
