SRINAGAR: In a first, a self-financed Kashmiri film ‘Kashmir Daily’ has become the first film to get an over the top (OTT) release. The movie, ‘Kashmir Daily’, is now available on a digital platform Eros Now, a network offering media streaming and video-on-demand services.

The movie was produced under the banner of production house Seven Two Creations and Safdar Art’s which has brought cheers to the whole crew. The crew includes Mir Sarwar as Hussein Durrani, Neelam Singh as Pooja, Sanam Ziya as Zoya, Rajinder Tickoo as Gul Khan, and Hussein Khan As Hyder Durrani

“There is another movie Bed No 17, which I myself have directed on the row, and is scheduled to be release on this summer,” the actor Mir Sarwar told Kashmir Life. Sarwar, a resident of Pandrathen Srinagar is involved in making Kashmiri films and contributes to the industry’s projects without charging a fee in order to encourage film making in the Valley.

“Apart from these movies, there are many more coming on this season and I have important roles in all of them,” Sarwar added.

Besides this, Sarwar is now a big name in Bollywood and has acted in many hit movies including Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Phantom, Dishoom, Jolly LLB-2 and many more.

Kashmir Daily is an Urdu-language social drama film produced and directed by a Kashmiri filmmaker Hussein Khan. The film shot during the period of four years in Kashmiri and Hindi, tells the story of a crusading journalist running into the twin problems of youth unemployment and drug addiction.
