SRINAGAR: Former minister and senior politician Sued Basharat Bukhari is all set to join People’s Democratic Party, sources said here on Friday. He will return to the PDP after over 5 years.

Sources close to Bukhari said that he will very soon join the PDP after holding deliberations with the party leadership.

Notably, he was expelled by the PDP in 2018 on charges of anti-party activities after the PDP-BJP coalition government fell in Jammu and Kashmir.

In December 2018, Bukhari joined the National Conference after being expelled from the PDP.

Again in 2021, he left the National Conference and joined Sajad Lone led People’s Conference, from where he was also expelled in June last year.

Over past few months Bukhari had been out of active politics until recently. He has also held various positions at party levels and also served as cabinet minister holding various portfolios including Law, Justice, Revenue, Parliamentary Affairs, Horticulture, Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.

He served as member of Legislative Council and member of Legislative Assembly from Sangrama assembly segment. (KNS)
