The explosion was of such magnitude that it forcefully blew off the tarpaulin covering the truck where the battery had been placed after unloading. While no official statements have been made by senior IAF officials, an official has confirmed the incident.

Following the alarming incident, senior IAF officers have issued a directive to the staff members, instructing them not to carry any batteries or power banks, even if they possess a safety certificate, during flights. Furthermore, a comprehensive examination of all baggage has been ordered to enhance safety protocols. In addition to batteries, perfumes, deodorants, and any other inflammable items have also been banned from being carried on IAF flights.

This incident has sparked concerns over the safety measures and protocols for transporting hazardous items aboard IAF planes. The IAF is expected to review and strengthen its safety guidelines to prevent similar incidents in the future.
