Srinagar

Appealing the youth to come forward and participate in the better and smooth functioning of the system, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth president, Waheed ur Rehman Para on Monday said the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is working on a series of initiatives and programmes to create meaningful and respectable avenues of growth and progress for them.

“The Chief Minister understands the aspirations and issues of our youth and is trying hard to create an enabling environment for their growth and progress. She believes that the state can progress only when its youth are educated and employed,” he said while addressing a youth function in Srinagar.

Appreciating the efforts of the government for reaching out to every section of the society including youth, he said the government is working tirelessly to address the issues of people.

“The system belongs to youth. They must own the institutions of governance and suggest interventions that can bring transparency and accountability in its functioning. They have an important role to make the system better. The present government welcomes any such move from them with the aim to make effective changes on the ground,” he said.
