AIP’s signature campaign for appealing MLAs of various political parties to vote for abolishing Section 298A/B of RPC, in the upcoming Assembly Session today started from Kupwara and Handwara.

The campaign started at Main Chowk Kupwara with party president Er Rashid and others signing the campaign which was followed by people “who made long queues to participate in the signature campaign”.

“After Friday prayers a heavy procession was taken out from Jamia Masjid Handwara and participants joined the signature campaign at Main chowk Handwara,” AIP said in a statement.

Speaking on the occasion Er Rashid asked MLAs to rise to the occasion and read “writing on the wall and support the bill”.
