As the state government has failed, so far, to resume the suspended classwork in Pir Panjal based Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, state’s all Muslim student organization, Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT), Thursday expressed its deep concern at the continuous loss of precious time of students and scholars due to ongoing discord between students and administration and demanded immediate restoration of the classwork.
“More than one month has passed but there is no sincere effort on part of the university authorities to redress the grievances put forward by students who demand removal of the current registrar from his position because of his alleged involvement in the scholarship scam,” IJT president, Omar Sultan said on Thursday.
Notably, the students have been alleging scholarship scam in the varsity involving higher ups. “The varsity is closed and there is no class work going on. This is resulting is the loss of time of students as well as scholars,” Omar said.
“Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Jammu and Kashmir stresses upon the varsity authorities to resolve the issue amicably with the students at the earliest so that classes are resumed as soon as possible,” Omar asserted adding, “at the same time, IJT demands that stern action be taken against the persons found involved in the scholarship scam. Not only should be removed from their current positions but also terminated from the service to serve as stringent precedent for others in future.”
