Clashes broke out between the government forces and people near the encounter site in Shalgund village of Bijbehara town in Islamabad district.
Reports said that people from nearby villages of Shalgund took to streets and clashed with the government forces. While in Khanabal area of the district youth took to streets and pelted government forces with stones, forces resorted to aerial firing, however, there were no injuries reported from the spot.
Earlier, six militants were killed during an encounter with government forces in Shalgund village of Bijbehara tehsil. The bodies of the slain militants have been retrieved from the site of the encounter, while their identities and affiliation are being ascertained.
Incriminating materials including a huge quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter.
