SRINAGAR

The Eid-ul-Adha was celebrated across the Valley with religious fervor and gaiety. By and large the first day passed peacefully though there were few incidents of violence. In North Kashmir’s Palhalan area a cop lost his life, while in Srinagar’s old city pitched batlles were fought between youth and cops. Unusually this time posters of Osama Bin ladin and Taliban was what youth carried in their hamds. Police intervened, resorted to lathi charge and mild tear gas shelling. Kashmir Life’s Photo Editor Spent few Hours to capture the colours of Eid.
