Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Friday said that the visits by the interlocutor, Dineshwar Sharma, to Jammu and Kashmir is a “futile exercise” as Kashmiris reject any bilateral engagement regarding the resolution of Kashmir dispute.

“The so-called interlocutor, Dineshwar Sharma, is on a second visit to JK. India must understand that the stand of Kashmiris is very clear about the resolution of Kashmir issue. Any bilateral engagement between India and Pakistan or between Kashmir and India is unacceptable to us,” DeM general secretary, Nahida Nasreen, said in a statement.

“By sending Sharma to JK, India doesn’t want to resolve Kashmir but in fact wants to strengthen its illegal occupation of Kashmir more and more,” she added.

She said that India’s obstinate stand of not even accepting Kashmir as a dispute exposes its ill intentions regarding a resolution of this long pending dispute. “In this regard, we must discourage all kinds of engagements with Sharma. People and the resistance leadership mustn’t engage with or be optimistic about such futile exercises,” she added.

She said that the only solution to the Kashmir issue acceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir is based on the UN resolutions in accordance to the Two-nation Theory.  “Any other resolution is unacceptable to the people of Kashmir. India should implement the internationally recognised and acknowledged UN resolutions on Kashmir.”
