SRINAGAR: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly Bye-Elections 2025, scheduled to take place across multiple states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Telangana.
As per an official statement issued from the party’s central headquarters in New Delhi, Aga Syed Mohsin has been named the BJP candidate for the Budgam constituency, while Devyani Rana will contest from Nagrota in Jammu and Kashmir.
Devyani is the daughter of Devinder Singh Rana, a prominent BJP leader and former MLA from Nagrota, who passed away in October 2024 after a prolonged illness.
Aga Syed Moshin is a local leader of BJP from Shia community in Budgam.
In Jharkhand, Babulal Soren will contest from Ghatshila (ST), while Jay Dholakia has been fielded from Nuapada in Odisha. For Telangana’s Jubilee Hills constituency, the BJP has nominated Lankala Deepak Reddy.
The list was released by Arun Singh, the BJP’s National General Secretary and Chief Spokesperson, following approval from the party’s Central Election Committee.
The BJP said the candidates were chosen for their “strong grassroots presence and proven leadership abilities” in their respective constituencies.
